Strafe Outerwear, a leader in performance winter outerwear and base layers, introduced a new ski touring kit with a pullover and pant made with brrr° cooling fabric technology that helps keep you cool, dry, and comfortable all day long.
The Recon Softshell Pullover was perfected by US Skimo champ John Gaston, and is designed for high-intensity ski touring and training.
It features a trim fit, perforated panels in high-output areas, superior stretch for ultimate mobility, internal mesh skin storage pockets, a stowable hood, and a pullover design that eliminates zipper bunching at the hem.
This jacket is the pinnacle of fast and light touring jackets. Whether I am training in the resort, skimo racing or linking big lines in the spring the Recon Pullover is my go to. My favorite feature is the kangaroo pocket – I just drop in my skins for the downhill to make my transitions even quicker. I also love the weight of the jacket, it’s the only softshell that’s actually light enough for when you are moving fast. Keep it up Strafe! —Fletcher K.
The Recon Softshell Pant, designed by Gaston, offers streamlined functionality for training comfort and performance during touring. With a refined slimmer fit and waist, the movement-focused pant has new features like cuff grommets and reinforced walk-mode lever cutouts that are compatible with boots.
The new Recon pant and pullover are made with patented brrr° cooling technology, which combines the powers of natural cooling minerals, active wicking, and rapid drying so you can perform your best. brrr° supports your body’s natural thermoregulation, and every brrr° fabric is independently lab tested to proven to keep you cooler.
“We’re very excited about these updated fabrics for the Recon pants and pullover that are made with brrr° cooling fabric, a patented technology that draws heat and moisture away from your skin to help keep you cooler during high intensity touring sessions for better endurance and comfort,” said Pia Halloran, VP of Design & Development, Strafe Outerwear. “We also like the new features on this kit, including the internal skin pockets and snap-away hood on the pullover, and an improved waistband adjustment and reinforced rear buckle opening on the pants.”

Strafe Outerwear and brrr° have collaborated for several years to elevate the performance of outerwear so people can have greater endurance and comfort for all their activities.
“We are thrilled to partner with another innovative, forward-thinking company as we introduce brrr° cooling fabric technology to this new iteration of our Strafe Recon pullover and pants,” said John Gaston, Co-Founder, Strafe Outerwear. “This is my go-to training kit, and the brrr° fabric is definitely elevating its functionality during high-intensity training sessions.”

brrr° was founded by former Spanx executive Mary-Cathryn Kolb, who had a vision of bringing cooling performance technology to the fabrics we wear and touch in our everyday lives so people could feel more cool, comfortable, and confident no matter where life takes them.
“We love collaborating with brands that care about performance and comfort as much as we do, and we are honored to work with Strafe Outerwear to make the Recon pullover and pants better with brrr°,” Kolb said.
“While these garments are designed for high intensity sessions, they’re also great for layering and year-round wear when comfort is key,” she said.
