“Brrr” isn’t something many people in Atlanta have said lately, given the scorching temperatures.

However, today may be an exception.
Atlanta-based Brrr, a producer of patented cooling and comfort fabric technologies, announced on July 18 that it appointed Christopher Heyn CEO.
Heyn has been serving as executive chairman and previously served as president and CEO of apparel customization business Lion Brothers, before its acquisition by Avery Dennison. His experience also includes work with Southern Tide, Summit Golf Brands, Nautica and the National Basketball Association.
“I’m honored to serve as CEO as well as executive chairman of Brrr as we focus on breakthrough innovations in cooling comfort fabric technologies,” Heyn said in a prepared statement. “With a winning sales and brand strategy, global partnerships, stronger operational execution and a commitment to excellence, Brrr is ideally positioned to scale across multiple markets as we offer authentic and impactful solutions that support a more comfortable lifestyle — anywhere, anytime.”
The cooling fabric technology produced by Brrr is licensed by brands such as Sun Day Red by Tiger Woods, Bass Pro Shops, Adidas, Southern Tide, Vineyard Vines, Dillard’s, Greyson and ’47 Brand hats.
Mary-Cathryn Kolb, a former Spanx executive, founded Brrr in 2014 to develop “cutting-edge” cooling fabric technology that combined the powers of natural cooling minerals, active wicking and rapid drying to instantly draw heat and moisture away from the skin, according to a press release.
Kolb served as CEO before Heyn’s appointment. She continues to support the company as an advisor and board member, per the press release.
